Looks Like I Have a Thing for Photoessays
Tim sent me this brilliant link to Rena Effendi. She’s an Azeri photographer and she’s got a book out that documents the lives of the pipeline, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline that is getting a lot of attention (here, here, and here) in this part of the world and in America, as you can see there. The pipeline itself is a source of many cultural, social, and political stories. Rena captures it in striking fashion.

What makes this even cooler is that Tim actually met this woman, and learned about her photography in person. That’s one of the perks of being near Baku.
