Just another blog about Azerbaijan.

There is a lot going on!  I’ve had Site Interviews, Training Interviews, and a language test in the last few days.  And now we’re going on organization visits, and giving presentations to our fellow trainees.

The organization I’m visiting this week is really interesting.  It’s called Access Bank, and it specializes in microcredit.  You should check out the site.  It’s done very good work here in Azerbaijan, and other countries.  We even have a few volunteers working for a bank branch out in the countryside.  The microcredit movement is doing very well in Azerbaijan, but even the little things that we PC folks can help with are making a difference in banking practices and general business practices.  These changes can go a long way towards helping folks who need the small business loans.  I’ll elaborate more when I have a little more time!
